I started a post-doc position at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz

I am excited to share with you that I started a post-doc position at the Department of Communication at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. Moving back to Mainz is exciting and a bit nostalgic too since I started my academic career (as a young student, of course) at this very university and I have good memories of living and studying in this city. I will be working in the Dynamics of Society and Communication Research Group (led by Prof. Dr. Christian Schemer). I am eager to continue my academic path in this amazing community and contribute to the teaching and research of this great institution.

Nonetheless, I am changing affiliations with a laughing and a crying eye because starting somewhere new means saying goodbye to my academic home for the last six years. I am grateful for these years at the Department of Media Psychology at the University of Hohenheim and I am deeply indepted to Sabine Trepte for her continuous support and mentorship and for providing me with the space and the environment for academic growth. I also want to thank all my past colleagues and friends at the University of Hohenheim (Tobias Dienlin, Michael Scharkow, Thilo von Pape, Doris Teutsch, Laura Loy, Laura Loths, Max Braun, Cornelia Mothes, Josephine Schmitt, Alexandra Lux, and Susanne Braunschweiger) for six exciting and memorable years.

I am excited about the future, eager to advance my research, and I am very much looking forward to continuing my personal learning process that I believe “research” is about.
